My name is Naarah, and since 2008, I’ve been teaching private piano and cello lessons to a wide variety of students. While I have strong roots in classical music, and strive to pass along knowledge of the fundamentals and techniques of classical training, I believe the basic love of music can be discovered/obtained through different styles and approaches, depending on the student. My goal as a teacher is to provide students of all ages and abilities with knowledge, skills, appreciation, and discipline, in whatever way is most positive and enjoyable for them individually.
Music has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. Formal piano study began at age 6, and cello shortly after. Throughout my secondary education, I performed as principal cellist with several school and youth orchestras, pit orchestras, and chamber ensembles, while singing with various choirs and working as a piano accompanist.
After studying cello performance at the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music, I branched into the studio world, recording cello for hip hop, rock, pop, metal, and anything in between. To further expand my musical scope, I also obtained degrees in Audio Engineering and Music Business.
Whether I’m performing, recording, or teaching, I put my all into making music, and one of the most beautiful things in life is sharing that experience with others. Contact me today to begin our musical journey!
